What Is Crime Stoppers?
Crime Stoppers is a program in which members of the community, the media, law enforcement agencies and area businesses work together to solve crimes. Citizens are encouraged, through the use of CASH rewards and a promise of anonymity, to provide information leading to the arrest and conviction of criminals.
If you have any knowledge of any crimes committed, call us!
Information leading to the arrest and conviction of a criminal
could be worth up to $1000, and your identity need not be revealed.
Who Is Involved?
Crime Stoppers is made of volunteers in Martin County - people who are willing to take action against crime. We want our community to be a safe one and we are willing to work to make it that way. The board of directors is made up of community members volunteering time and talent to the program. There is also a trained coordinator from the Williamston Police Department.
How Does Crime Stoppers Work?
Local law enforcement and Crime Stoppers publicize facts pertaining to unsolved crimes via all forms of media. Citizens are asked to call Crime Stoppers with any information pertaining to any unsolved crimes. Each informant is given a code number so that confidentiality and anonymity are assured. Rewards of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a criminal can sometimes provide incentive to otherwise reluctant informants.
Who Benefits?
All of us benefit. The criminal off the street is no longer a threat to you, your children or your business. And, in a community where citizens work together to solve crimes, it can serve as a deterrent against further criminal activity.

McGruff Outfit Purchased
Martin County Crime Stoppers is pleased to announce that it has recently purchased a brand new McGruff outfit to aid in the education of young people regarding crime. Known for his famous slogan, "Take a Bite Out Of Crime," McGruff is a nationally recognized character. Crime Stoppers board members feel this outfit will help promote their cause and encourage more people to report crime.
